Horti ASIA 2015 and AGRI-Asia 2015 close with record attendance, attracting over 8,100 industry experts from 61 countries
Horti ASIA 2015, the 4th international tradeshow for horticultural & floricultural production and processing technology together with AGRI-Asia 2015, the agricultural technology exhibition in Thailand 2015 report a growth of 169% in trade visitor attendance. The show closed on an all-time high last week with 8,126 trade visitors attending. Both shows saw strong interest from Europe and the ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia. The three-day trade shows were held from March 17-19, 2015 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Mrs. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, General Manager of VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. (VNUEAP) revealed that the 4th edition of Horti ASIA and the first edition of AGRI-Asia, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, covered a comprehensive range of the agricultural, horticultural and floricultural industry. “This year, we have received great feedback about the buyer quality from our international exhibitors” said the GM of VNUEAP. Nearly 200 international companies from over 20 countries exhibited in the three-day event. Amongst them were international country pavilions such as Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, China and Thailand. The organizer individually matched more than 100 business meetings that generated an estimated turnover of hundreds of millions of baht.
The exhibitors profited from a 169% growth in trade visitors compared to last year. Agriculturists, horticulturists, academics, investors and traders of agricultural materials, equipment and chemicals used the three-day business event to see the latest industry trends first hand. “The attendance of over 800 international trade professionals from over 61 countries is what makes Horti ASIA & AGRI-Asia the industry hub for ASEAN,” General Manager Ladda Mongkolchaivivat concluded. She continued saying, “we received a lot of powerful ideas from our customers on how to grow and internationalize the show even further. Together with the industry we are now working on a delivering an even better Horti ASIA & AGRI-Asia.”
The two trade shows successfully integrated conferences to further highlight its hub as knowledge platform. The Thai Society of Agricultural Engineering (TSAE) gathered more than 80 delegates from 18 Countries, while The International Conference on Coconut Oil (ICCO) attracted 150 professional conference delegates from 6 countries. Furthermore, the organizer arranged the international Conference about Horticulture under the topic “Dutch Excellence in Protected Horticulture” which successfully attracted many professional conference delegates.
The success of Horti ASIA 2015 and AGRI-Asia 2015 in number of exhibitors and visitors has reinforced the position of Thailand as ASEAN hub of technology and innovation in agriculture, horticulture, floriculture and machinery.
