Indonesia, Third-Leading Global Market for Motorcycles Shows Robust Demand for Electric Two-Wheelers ith over 140 million vehicles, Indonesia is recognized as the third-largest motorcycle market globally. The market's stability and growth are significantly boosted by the high usage of ride-hailing services in the e-commerce sector, which in turn ensures strong motorcycle and aftermarket demands. The Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI) projects a healthy recovery and expansion, targeting 6.4 to 6.7 million units in annual sales for 2025. Looking ahead, Indonesia is strongly committing to the electrification of its vehicle fleet, setting targets of having 2 million electric motorcycles or Electric Two-Wheelers (E2Ws) operating by 2025 and 13 million by 2030. As a major nickel supplier, Indonesia is also establishing itself as an EV battery manufacturing hub, investing in battery swapping infrastructure to solve E2W charging issues. These commitments are fueling explosive growth, with the E2W segment expected to advance at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of at least 13.41% through 2030. Indonesian government also confirmed its ongoing support to continue E2W subsidies. "We've prepared the concept, so ask the Banteng (Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs)." said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita after a meeting W MOTOR TRADER www.IMB2B.com TRADE SHOW PREVIEW Text, Photo / Press Center 36
