Overview of Taiwan’s Horticultural Industry in 2025 rom January to November 2025, Taiwan’s gardening products exports reflected a mixed yet structurally evolving trend, shaped by market adjustment in mature economies and rapid expansion in selected emerging markets. According to trade data, total global exports reached USD 32.1 million for secateurs and one-handed pruners, USD 7.35 million for mechanical appliances used to project or disperse liquids or powders, and USD 25.8 million for other agricultural and horticultural hand tools. While overall year-on-year growth varied by product category, the data highlights Taiwan’s continued strength in value-added gardening tools and its growing role in supplying equipment for agricultural efficiency. Key Export Destinations The United States remained Taiwan’s largest export destination across all three product categories, accounting for USD 5.42 million in pruning tools, USD 1.93 million in mechanical appliances, and USD 12.04 million in agricultural hand tools. Despite year-on-year declines in some segments, the U.S. market continues to demonstrate strong underlying demand, reflecting its scale and reliance on Taiwanese quality and supply stability. Japan and the United Kingdom followed as key markets, particularly for secateurs and hand tools. Japan recorded USD 3.16 million in pruning tool imports with a 14.6% YoY increase, while the U.K. saw 17.4% growth, underscoring steady demand driven by mature gardening cultures and professional landscaping needs. Europe collectively represents a critical pillar for Taiwan’s exports. Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland all ranked among the top ten destinations, with notable growth in pruning tools, including a 103.4% YoY surge in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, emerging markets showed remarkable momentum in mechanical appliances. Saudi Arabia (+150.4%), Brazil (+269.8%), the Philippines (+223.0%), and China (+157.6%) posted triple-digit growth rates, signaling increasing investment in modernized agriculture, irrigation, and productivity-enhancing technologies.
