GARDEN Trader (SPRING 2022)

Various latest agricultural/livestock materials & technologies were featured at AGRI WEEK TOKYO 2021. To address the labor shortage, which is a growing issue due to the declining agricultural population in Japan, cutting-edge technologies and services for improving work efficiency & smart farming were in the spotlight this year. The show attracted many visitors in the agriculture field, sourcing the latest drones, auto-carriers, renewable energy-related items, and other various products that make farm life more productive. While the national pavilion from Korea continued their participation from last year at LIVESTOCK TOKYO, Taiwan Pavilion was coming back to AGRITECH TOKYO to promote their products to Japanese buyers. With robust support from Show Management, the exhibiting 12 companies from Korea & 6 companies from Taiwan were able to conduct business meetings with many Japanese buyers. GARDEX - 15th International Garden Expo Tokyo 89 exhibitors In recent years, there has been a growing interest in environment-friendly "sustainable" products. The gardening industry is getting in on the act and various sustainable products were showcased at GARDEX, such as fabric gardening planters made from recycled plastic, products designed to eliminate plastic waste, etc. In the area of leisure products, dome-shaped houses that can be used for temporary housing in times of disaster and teleworking attracted much attention. These market trends have attracted many latest garden- ing & camping items at GARDEX this year. The show was filled with more buyers from home improvement stores and garden centres than previous years who desired to source more and more trendy items and received product presentations by motivated exhibitors. With this success, Show Management is determined to gather more exhibitors & visitors for next year, GARDEX 2022, which will bring the new featured concept of “Outdoor Life.” The combination of existing “Gardening” and new “Outdoor Life” will make the show an even more valuable platform for the garden & outdoor industry. TOOL JAPAN - 11th International Hardware & Tools Expo Tokyo 79 exhibitors TOOL JAPAN featured a wide range of the latest products such as professional workwear, safety equip- ment, construction supplies, DIY work tools, emergency tools, etc. The show attracted not only retailers and wholesalers such as home centres, professional shops, and tool, and hardware shops, but also a large number of professional users such as builders, mechanics, factory personnel, and construction workers. Business dealings took place actively at the show venue. Particu- larly in the field of workwear, proposals for the new markets of post-pandemic have increasingly been active, and the latest products such as heat protection clothing and power assistive suits were on display.
