Indonesia Performance Growth in Motorcycle and Automotive Industry sia Pacific will be the third-fastest growing region for vehicle sales in 2018, according to BMI Research forecasts, which show sales for the region rising 4.7%, ahead of the 3.6% forecast for global sales growth. Vehicle sales in ASEAN grew 5 percent year-on-year to 3.3 million and Indonesia remained the biggest car sales market as well as the second-biggest car producer in the ASEAN region by contributed almost one-third to the total. According to AISI (Indonesia's Motorcycle Industry Association), the Motorcycle sales in Indonesia rose 1.8 percent year-on-year (y/y) to 482,537 units in the first month of 2018. Although it is only modest growth, it does give rise to optimism about the direction of domestic motorcycle sales this year. Regarding full-year 2018, they expect Indonesia's motorcycle sales to rise by about 5 percent (y/y) to 5.9 - 6.1 million units.
