Taiwan Motorcycle Export Volumes By Country for Jan.-Nov. 2016

he total exports of motorbikes in Taiwan from
January to November of 2016 stood for 234,000
units with the value of 341 million dollars,
dropped by 11% compared to the same period of the
former year. However, the sales had increased by
17.8% in 2016, while the market growth of cars was
only 2.3%. The performance of the motorbike market
was more outstanding than the car’s.
The top three export countries of motorbikes are
Japan, Colombia and Italy, accounted for half of the
total export value. Japan was leading with the highest
amount of export value and units, while Colombia as the
second. What’s also noted is that both the value and the
amount of motorbikes exported to the Netherlands from
Taiwan have increased the most, and the exports to
Greek and Israel have had distinct growth, whereas the
exports to Denmark, Turkey and France have
decreased more compared to the others.
Under the influence of the authoritative replace-
ment subsidy policy, cheap petrol, imported vehicles
competing for market share, numerous discount sales
and so on, the motorbike sales in Taiwan exceeded 850
