New Era for E-Bikes: Taiwanese Manufacturers Step into Foreign Markets with Full Strength Source: Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association Taiwan Motorcycle Export Volumes by Country for Jan. to June in 2018 Unit: Vehicles ccording to the statics of export motorcycles during the period from January to June of 2018, the total export volume is about 120,000, which is 10% lower than the same period last year. The total ex- port sales were approximately US$142 million which is a decrease of 22.3%. The top three countries in terms of export volume are Japan, Iraq, and Colombia. Iraq has exported 27,000 vehicles that is a significant increase from the same period last year. The top three countries in terms of total export sales are Japan, Italy, and Colom- bia, but it’s decreasing compared with last year. Regardless of the quantity or amount, the top three countries all hold more than half of Taiwan’s export value. Among them, Japan ranks the highest in both statics, and the export to Iraq has increased greatly that ranking second with a minor gap. In terms of industrial trends, E-bikes has continued to flourish gradually. Europe, including UK, Germany, Netherlands and other governments, plan to overall ban on gasoline-fueled vehicles before 2040.
